Heirloom Commons comes from the idea of public goods. Just as heirlooms are passed by tradition between blood kin, or the kin we define for ourselves, there are ideas, practices, knowledge that I believe are meant to remain public and to be passed onward for all to relish.
I’ve crafted my corner of the internet in such a spirit, in the idea that heirlooms can also be shared in the commons. We may expand our idea of kin–I give myself permission to expand it.
I would like to share with you, and pass on if you’ll accept, the joys and phantasmagoria that color my life–from photography, writing, and crafts like ceramics and metalsmithing–to interviews with artists about their craft.
As always, a work in progress. Yours truly.
